Matthew is not one to procrastinate. He aims to help all clients set and achieve higher goals. His background in Chartered Accounting firms in New Zealand and Australia over 25 years gives a great resource of experience, particularly in computerised accounting solutions and tax matters. He advises many Trans Tasman entities, and has a special interest in business purchases and structures.

Matthew embraces new technology and his 'can do' attitude is infectious. Clients appreciate Matthew's methodical and logical approach to explanations and his welcoming and enthusiastic personality are appreciated. Matthew is always keen to get out of the office and visit clients on 'their home turf', but also works on their accounting systems remotely as required. Getting to know clients and their businesses better forges stronger bonds, trust and the partnership approach to clients' success that our firm promotes.

Matthew is a sports enthusiast, and a force to be reckoned with on the hockey field, still playing representative hockey, and coaching his daughters' school hockey team. He is a keen fisherman, and enjoys spending family time at Waihi Beach.

Keith has been working in Hamilton in Chartered Accounting for over 40 years, and enjoys the special relationships he has built with clients. He has a great sense of humour and a positive and reassuring manner. Whilst having special interests in taxation, farm accounting and land transactions, he is also involved in trust administration, business management and business structures.

Keith has a strong commitment to our clients' success, he cares, and always goes the extra mile. His wealth of life experience and business knowledge sees his skills sought for trust and estate planning, mediation, and conflict resolution. He is also first to offer assistance with house planning and building projects.

As a Consultant now working reduced hours, Keith pursues his other interests - designing and building houses, developing gardens, watching the property market, and spending time at the beach.

Neilen Govender, Accounting Technician

Neilen is our office's Accounting Software expert. He is also our Xero champion and is the first person to talk to in the office for any Xero questions. He is currently working towards the Chartered Accountants Qualification in the near future and would someday like his career to head in the direction of Sustainability. Outside work, Neilen is an avid follower of cricket, soccer, motorsports and electronic sports (e-sports) and also enjoys travelling the world and experiencing different cultures.

Cindy has recently graduated from the University of Waikato with a Master of Professional Accountancy. Cindy has a can-do attitude and enjoys working on a variety of client accounts. Cindy has previously worked as an interpreter and is fluent in English, Mandarin and Japanese. In this role she was coordinating between the Chinese government and some of its larger clients. Outside of work, Cindy enjoys reading, music, travel, and spending time with her family.

Cherie Brazendale, Administrator

Cherie provides the general administrative tasks for our firm, client payrolls, body corporate administration, the operation of our firm's Trust Account and secretarial functions for resident and non resident clients. Cherie has a vast knowledge of all aspects of office procedures, payroll and administration - having worked previously in the engineering, medical, meat and dairy industries. Cherie is a friendly, bubbly person with a great sense of humour. She enjoys working with people and helping wherever she can. Outside work, Cherie enjoys singing, music, reading and spending quality time with her family and friends.

Mary-Lee Hight, Associate Director

Mary-Lee has over 25 years of accounting experience, mostly in Chartered Accountancy, but also stints on a working holiday in London and for Fonterra. She enjoys meeting and working with clients, getting to know their business and generally offering them a great service. Outside of work, Mary-Lee has a new passion - rowing! Not as a competitor, but as a spectator, watching her teenage son compete in regattas. Mary-Lee is also keen on spending time with family and friends, movies, theatre and travel.

Avi has been involved in preparation of financial statements and attending to all types of taxation returns for a wide range of clients for the past 20 years. Avi has a great sense of humour and describes himself as motivated, hardworking, resilient and client focused. He loves nothing more than helping clients obtain good results and understand their accounts. Give Avi something complex and challenging and he is a happy man. Avi is a keen supporter in anything rugby-related, cricket and enjoys watching all sport. He is our office's sports event co-ordinator. He also enjoys socialising, music and entertainment.

Janice hails from Te Awamutu and has spent many years working for Chartered Accounting firms doing Client accounting and practice management accounting for a very large practice. Most recently Janice managed the administration of a family business and is a great help to our many clients who run their own in-house accounting systems. Always cheerful and motivated, we rely on Janice to make staff functions a happening thing. Hardly surprising that away from the office Janice enjoys socialising, travel, music, reading, cooking, gardening and sport, mostly as a spectator these days.

Kathryn Alexander, Receptionist, Secretary, Administrator

RECEPTIONIST / SECRETARY / ADMINISTRATOR

Kathryn supervises the hub of our operation in reception. She provides our administrative support, client company administration, keeps tabs on where everyone is and helps to make sure that our clients experience in contacting us is helpful, enjoyable and productive. Kathryn has a wide variety of experience previously working in the finance, health, rural and education sectors. Kathryn enjoys meeting new people and assisting clients with queries and is very comfortable learning new computer systems and applications. A keen interest in literacy has seen Kathryn involved in the governance committee of Literacy Waikato for a number of years. Outside of work Kathryn enjoys travel, reading, crosswords (the harder the better) and is a keen Scottish country dancer, although we're told "not with the swords"!

Sue Robertson, Practice Manager

Although beginning her career 40 years ago in Chartered Accounting firms, Sue spent 10 years working in large corporates, three years of this at Senior Management level. Sue has special interests in the cost and management, human resources, and people management areas which are of value to clients as an extension of the traditional financial and taxation advice available. Over the last 15 years Sue has been associated with the Bachelor of Midwifery Programme offered through Wintec in Hamilton. Her interest and passion in this area has seen her build up a client base of independent midwives.

Sue's role is varied and she is often found dealing with 'one off' issues for clients, and sorting out difficult situations with the IRD, ACC and other agencies. Sue assists clients with planning, budgeting, IRD and other debt management and business administration issues.

Outside work, Sue is a keen gardener, loves travel, family occasions, cooking and interior design. Sue has been involved in many school and community organisations as her children have grown up. These days she is deputy chair of the Tamahere Community Committee.
